Charitable Donations from around the Province
Donations to Scotlands' Charity Air Ambulance
Two Lodges in the Province kept up the tradition of donating to Scotlands Charity Air Ambulance recently.
The United Lodge of Dunkeld No.14 donated £500 to the team at Aberdeen Airport where Helimed 79 is based. Receiving the cheque from Lodge Treasurer Roddy McInnes is Suzi York, Paramedic Team Leader along with Claire Allan, Paramedic Team Leader. Lodge Breadalbane No.657 presented the team at Scone Airport, where Helimed 76 is based, with a cheque for £250 . Lodge Master Pat Spicer accompanied by Almoner Ewen McPherson and Bro. Bob Morris are pictured making the donation.
These donation will help to keep the crews flying life-saving missions across Scotland, reaching people in need of urgent medical care as quickly as possible
No.14 helping to keep Traditional Music Alive and Kicking in Dunkeld & Birnam
The United Lodge of Dunkeld donated £500 to the Dunkeld & Birnam Traditional Youth Music Group.
The group offer free weekly tuition and instrument provision to youngsters. Violin and accordion lessons are already up and running and they have 2 bands for P5 to S2 and S3 - S6 pupils to join during term time.

Lodge St. James No.171 Donations
Lodge St. James No.171 presented 2 cheques to Kilmadock Community Council on the 21st March.
The first was for £500 which they will put towards refurbishing the Christmas Lights decorations in the village

PGL Perthshire West Charity Texas Scramble
On Sunday 20th March 2022 Provincial Grand Lodge held a Texas Scramble at Alyth Golf Club to raise money for Prostate Scotland through the Grand Lodge of Scotland's Make It a Million Appeal. Eighteen teams of four took part and at the end of the day Depute Provincial Grand Master Brother John K. Bryce handed over a cheque for £2,000 to Grand Almoner Brother Tom Davidson.

Lodge Breadalbane assist local disadvantaged kids play Rugby
Lodge Breadalbane 657 are delighted to be able to support local youths and disadvantaged children at Aberfeldy Rugby Club with its latest donation. Aberfeldy Rugby Club Chairman Laurie Dempster told us “The future of the club depends on our ability to introduce youngsters to the benefits of playing rugby so that our senior echelon is constantly refreshed by good young players. Our Development Officer Gregor Ross runs training for youngsters every Sunday and sessions of Tartan Touch Rugby, for boys and girls of all ages on every Tuesday evening. Details are published on our Facebook page and on the Community Facebook page. We want rugby to be available to all boys and girls whatever their circumstances. No child should feel that the lack of funds or equipment debars participation: we will always ensure that all are made welcome.”
Their goals of aiming to help all comers and in particular disadvantaged children fits well with our aims and so it was agreed that Lodge Breadalbane 657 donate £500 to the club to support this programme. Presentation of the cheque was made, fittingly, under the posts on a cold November morning. Present were (Left to right) Gregor Ross, Pat Spicer (presenting the cheque) Lawrie Dempster, Bill Bruce (both from the Rugby club) and Ray Taylor.
Utd Lodge of Dunkeld donation to Air Ambulance

Nick Harvey, Director- Fundraising and Communications, said on behalf of the whole team at SCAA, we would like to thank you all at the United Masonic Lodge of Dunkeld 14 for choosing to support SCAA. The £2,000.00 that was recently received is very much appreciated by us all.
As the country’s only charity-funded air ambulance, SCAA relies entirely on public donations to deliver expert paramedic care to the scene of time-critical emergencies, in every corner of Scotland, 365 days a year. We simply could not continue our life-saving service without the generosity of valued supporters like yourselves, and every donation makes a difference.
Many thanks once again for your generous support from the Paramedics, Pilots and all of us in the Charity Team here at SCAA, and please pass on our appreciation to your members.
The £7,500 raised from the 2021 West to East Charity Walk was divided between the Daughter Lodges in the Province with each Lodge receiving £500 to donate to local groups and charities. Many of the Lodges added to or even matched the £500. The pictures below show the donations being presented to the Lodges chosen beneficiaries
Donations from the West to East Charity Walk
The members of Lodge No 815 in Killin have donated a cheque for £450 to the committee raising funds to place festive lights on the lampposts in Main Street Killin for this year’s Christmas and Hogmanay celebrations, the cheque was presented by Dougal Ireland the acting lodge secretary and received by Amanda Clark and Mike Beresford. Mike also received a donation of £100 to help the Hogmanay Firework Fund renew the floodlights on Dochart Bridge.
A donation of £450 was also included from the MacNab Society of America to replace the lights on Innes Bhuidhe Island.
Gordon Meek, Master of Lodge Tay & Lyon recently made 3 donations to charities on behalf of the Lodge. The recipients in the photos below were The Stuart McPhail Trust (£100), Scotlands Charity Air Ambulance (£250) and The Dalweem Comfort Club Fund (£200)
Benevolence in The Province
The thirteen Lodges that make up the Province of Perthshire West have a proud tradition in giving to local groups and charities as well as supporting the larger national causes, having donated in excess of £100,000 over the last seven years. In 2018 the daughter Lodges gave £12,983 in local benevolence to groups such as Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance, Prostate Scotland, Strathcarron Hospice, The Scouts and numerous senior citizen welfare groups.
During the 2020 Covid - 19 pandemic The Grand Lodge of Scotland launched their Civid Challenge Appeal whereby each PGL was donated £2000 which was matched by PGLPW and divided equally to the 13 Lodges in the Province. below are the photos of the nominated groups receiving their £300 donations.
